There is provided a pharmaceutical composition suitable for topical administration to an eye, the composition comprising as active agent at least one oxazolidinone antibacterial drug, for example linezolid, in a concentration effective for treatment and/or prophylaxis of a gram-positive bacterial infection of an eye, and at least one ophthalmically acceptable excipient ingredient that reduces a rate of removal of the composition from the eye by lacrimation such that the composition has an effective residence time in the eye of about 2 to about 24 hours. The composition is, for example, an in situ gellable solution, suspension or solution/suspension.

Wird einem pharmazeutischen Aufbau zur Verfügung gestellt, der für aktuelle Leitung für ein Auge, dem Aufbau verwendbar ist, der als aktives Mittel mindestens eine oxazolidinone antibakterielle Droge, z.B. linezolid, in einer Konzentration enthält, die für Behandlung und/oder Prophylaxis einer grampositiven bakteriellen Infektion eines Auges und mindestens eines ophthalmically annehmbaren Bindemittelbestandteiles, der, wirkungsvoll ist eine Rate des Abbaus des Aufbaus vom Auge durch lacrimation so verringert, daß der Aufbau eine wirkungsvolle Aufenthaltszeit im Auge von ungefähr 2 zu ungefähr 24 Stunden hat. Der Aufbau ist, z.B., eine gelierbare in-situlösung, eine Aufhebung oder ein solution/suspension.
