The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of cyclopropaneacetylene by reacting a ketophosphonate with a diazo-transfer reagent in the presence of non-nucleophilic base in an aprotic solvent to generate a reaction mixture containing a ketodiazophosphonate compound and then reacting the reaction mixture with cyclopropanecarboxaldehyde in a non-nucleophilic base and a protic solvent to yield cyclopropaneacetylene.

A invenção atual relaciona-se a um processo para a preparação do cyclopropaneacetylene reagindo um ketophosphonate com diazo-transfere o reagent na presença da base non-non-nucleophilic em um solvente aprotic para gerar uma mistura de reação que contem um composto do ketodiazophosphonate e que reage então a mistura de reação com o cyclopropanecarboxaldehyde em uma base non-non-nucleophilic e em um solvente protic para render o cyclopropaneacetylene.
