The present invention provides the compound having the formula: ##STR1## wherein each of R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 is, substituted or unsubstituted, aryl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylamino, naphtha, pyridineamino, piperidino, t-butyl, aryloxy, arylalkyloxy, or pyridine group; wherein A is an amido moiety, --O--, --S--, --NH--, or --CH.sub.2 --; and wherein n is an integer from 3 to 8. The present invention also provides a method of selectively inducing growth arrest, terminal differentiation and/or apoptosis of neoplastic cells and thereby inhibiting proliferation of such cells. Moreover, the present invention provides a method of treating a patient having a tumor characterized by proliferation of neoplastic cells. Lastly, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and a therapeutically acceptable amount of the compound above.

Die anwesende Erfindung liefert das Mittel, welches die Formel hat: ## STR1 ## worin jedes von R.sub.1 und von R.sub.2 ist, ersetzt oder nicht ersetzt, Aryl-, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylamino, Naphtha, pyridineamino, piperidino, Tbutyl, aryloxy, arylalkyloxy oder Pyridingruppe; worin A eine Amidohälfte ist, --O --. --S --. --NH --. oder -- --; CH.sub.2 und worin n eine Ganzzahl von 3 bis 8 ist. Die anwesende Erfindung liefert auch eine Methode Wachstumanhalten, Terminalunterscheidung und/oder apoptosis der neoplastischen Zellen selektiv von verursachen und starke Verbreitung solcher Zellen dadurch von hemmen. Außerdem liefert die anwesende Erfindung eine Methode des Behandelns eines Patienten, der einen Tumor durch starke Verbreitung der neoplastischen Zellen kennzeichnen läßt. Zuletzt liefert die anwesende Erfindung einen pharmazeutischen Aufbau, der oben eine pharmazeutisch annehmbare Fördermaschine und eine therapeutisch annehmbare Menge vom Mittel enthält.
