A method of making a one-piece intraocular lens formed from a copolymer of
a hydrophilic monomer and an alkoxy-alkylmethacrylate. The intraocular
lens is foldable so as to be insertable through a small incision in the
eye. Copolymers of the lens have an equilibrium water content of from
about 10 to about 38 percent by weight based on the total weight of the
hydrated copolymer.
