De uitvinding betreft een methode en een apparaat voor opsporing van en differentiatie tussen basismaterialen, kleuren en verontreiniging in korrelen-als of tablet-vormige substanties worden gekenmerkt, die in die zin dat de substanties op een lineaire manier met een laserstraal verlicht zijn wordt, de optische straling die door de substanties wordt re-uitgezonden spectroscopisch geanalyseerd, en de substanties zijn geclassificeerd en gesorteerd in verschillende groepen.
