The invention provides a detergent formulations comprising at least one
water soluble polymer, or salt thereof, bearing at least one phosphonate
group. Suitable polymers comprise:

wherein X is H, Na, K or A; and A is a polymer, copolymer, or water soluble
salt thereof, comprising, one or more of the following monomers in
polymerized form:
carboxylic acids of the formula

R.sub.1 is H, OH, C.sub.1 -C.sub.9 alkyl or alkoxy or acetoxy or acetate
R.sub.2 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or alkoxy, COOR.sub.3
R.sub.3 is H, Na, K or C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl;
hydroxypropyl acrylate, propyl methacrylate, 2-acrylamido-2-propane
sulphonic acid, sodium styrene sulphonate, sodium allylsulphonate, sodium
methyl sulphonate, vinyl sulphonic acid, and salts thereof; acrylamide,
methacrylamide, tert-butylacrylamide, (meth)acrylonitrile, styrene, vinyl
acetate allyloxy-2-hydroxypropyl sulphonate and dialkylacrylamide.
Machine dish washing detergents and laundry detergents are also provided
which comprise detergent formulations of the present invention.

Verwendbare Polymer-Plastiken enthalten: ## STR1 ## worin X H, Na, K oder A ist; und A ist ein Polymer-Plastik, ein Copolymer oder ein wasserlösliches Salz davon, ein Enthalten, oder mehr der folgenden Monomeren in polymerisierter Form: karboxylhaltige Säuren des Formel ## STR2 ##, worin R.sub.1 H ist, OH-, C.sub.1 - Alkyl C.sub.9 oder alkoxy oder acetoxy oder Azetat R.sub.2 ist H, C.sub.1 - Alkyl C.sub.3 oder alkoxy, COOR.sub.3 R.sub.3 ist H, Na, K oder C.sub.1 - Alkyl C.sub.10; Hydroxypropanol- Acrylat, Propyl- Methacrylat, Sulfosäure 2-acrylamido-2-propane, Natriumstyrolsulfonat, Natriumallylsulphonate, Natriummethyl- Sulfonat, Vinylsulfosäure und Salze davon; Acrylamid, methacrylamide, tert-butylacrylamide, (meth)acrylonitrile, Styrol, Sulfonat des Vinylazetats allyloxy-2-hydroxypropyl und dialkylacrylamide. Waschende Reinigungsmittel des Maschine Tellers und Wäschereireinigungsmittel werden auch zur Verfügung gestellt, welche reinigende Formulierungen von der anwesenden Erfindung enthalten.
