This invention provides a method of treating obesity, generalized anxiety
disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, late luteal phase disphoric
disorder (premenstrual syndrome), attention deficit disorder, with and
without hyperactivity, Gilles de la Tourette syndrome, bulimia nervosa or
Shy Drager Syndrome in a mammal by administering to the mammal an
effective amount of a hydroxycycloalkanephenethyl amine of the following
structural formula:

in which A is a moiety of the formula

where
the dotted line represents optional unsaturation;
R.sub.1 is hydrogen or alkyl;
R.sub.2 is alkyl;
R.sub.4 is hydrogen, alkyl, formyl, or alkanol;
R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are, independently, hydrogen, hydroxyl, alkyl, alkoxy,
alkanoyloxy, cyano, nitro, alkylmercapto, amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino,
alkanamido, halo, trifluoromethyl, or taken together, methylene dioxy;
R.sub.7 is hydrogen or alkyl; and
n is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4;
or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
Diese Erfindung stellt eine Methode des Behandelns von von Korpulenz, von von generalisierter Angststörung, von von Pfosten-traumatischer Druckstörung, späte luteal Phase von von disphoric Störung (premenstrual Syndrom), von von Aufmerksamkeit Defizitstörung, mit und ohne Hyperaktivität, Gilles de la Tourette Syndrom, Bulimie nervosa oder schüchternem Drager Syndrom in einem Säugetier vom Ausüben zum Säugetier ein wirkungsvolle Menge eines hydroxycycloalkanephenethyl Amins der folgenden strukturellen Formel zur Verfügung: ## STR1 ## in, welchem A eine Hälfte des Formel ## STR2 ## ist, in dem die punktierte Linie wahlweise freigestellte Ungesättigtheit darstellt; R.sub.1 ist Wasserstoff oder Alkyl; R.sub.2 ist Alkyl; R.sub.4 ist Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Formyl oder Alkanol; R.sub.5 und R.sub.6 sind, unabhängig, Wasserstoff, Hydroxyl, Alkyl, alkoxy, alkanoyloxy, Cyano-, Nitro, alkylmercapto, Amino, alkylamino, dialkylamino, alkanamido, Halo, trifluoromethyl, oder zusammen genommen, Methylen dioxy; R.sub.7 ist Wasserstoff oder Alkyl; und n ist 0, 1, 2, 3 oder 4; oder ein pharmazeutisch annehmbares Salz davon.
