The present invention is related to a resin for use in an antifouling coating which is a polymer obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable unsaturated monomer(s) and having, at side chain terminals thereof, a trisubstituted borane-amine complex and an azomethine group, or a group represented by the following general formula (1): ##STR1## (wherein M represents a metal selected from the group consisting of copper, zinc, nickel and cobalt, - - - means a chemically bound state, W represents --N(R.sup.1)R.sup.2 -- (in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms), --OCO--, --OSO.sub.2 -- or ##STR2## L represents an alkylene group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and m represents an integer of 0 to 4).

Die anwesende Erfindung hängt mit einem Harz für Gebrauch in einer Holzschutzschicht zusammen, die ein Polymer-Plastik ist, das indem es ein polymerizable ungesättigtes monomer(s) erhalten wird, polymerisiert und habend, an den Seitenketteanschlüssn davon, a das komplizierte Boraneamin und eine azomethine Gruppe trisubstituted, oder eine Gruppe stellte durch die folgende allgemeine Formel (1) dar: ## STR1 ## (worin M ein Metall darstellt, das von der Gruppe vorgewählt wird, die aus Kupfer, Zink, Nickel und Kobalt besteht, - - - Mittel ein chemisch gesprungener Zustand, W stellt dar -- N(R.sup.1)R.sup.2 -- (in welches R.sup.1 und R.sup.2 dieselben oder das unterschiedlich sein kann und jedem stellt ein Wasserstoffatom oder eine Alkylgruppe dar, die 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten), -- oco --. -- OSO.sub.2 -- oder ## STR2 ## L stellt eine Alkengruppe dar, die 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatome enthält, und m stellt eine Ganzzahl von 0 bis 4) dar.
