The invention concerns the use of a compound of the formula (I) in which Z, X, T, A, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, p and q have any of the meanings defined herein, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts or in vivo hydrolysable esters, in the treatment of a disease or condition mediated by monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1). Certain of the components of formula (I) are novel and are provided, together with pharmaceutical compositions thereof, as further features of the invention.

De uitvinding betreft het gebruik van een samenstelling van de formule (I) waarin Z, X, T, A, R.sup.1, R.sup.2, p en q om het even welk van de hierin bepaalde betekenissen, en hun farmaceutisch aanvaardbare zouten of levende hydrolysable esters hebben, in de behandeling van een ziekte of een voorwaarde die door monocyte chemoattractant eiwit-1 (mcp-1) wordt bemiddeld. Sommige van de componenten van formule (I) zijn nieuw en, samen met farmaceutische samenstellingen, als verdere eigenschappen van de uitvinding daarvan verstrekt.
