The invention relates to ligands or complexes useful as catalysts for
catalytically bleaching substrates with atmospheric oxygen, and as
catalysts in the of treatment of textiles such as laundry fabrics whereby
bleaching by atmospheric oxygen is catalysed after the treatment. The
ligand is of the general formula:

R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 independently represent a group selected from
hydrogen, hydroxyl, halogen, --NH--C(NH)NH.sub.2, --R and --OR, wherein
R=alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl or a
carbonyl derivative group, R being optionally substituted by one or more
functional groups, and provided that two of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3
are coordinating groups and one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 is a
non-coordinating group;
Q independently represents a group selected from C.sub.2-3 -alkylene
optionally substituted by H, benzyl or C.sub.1-8 -alkyl; and
Q.sub.1, Q.sub.2 and Q.sub.3 independently represent specified linking
groups.
De uitvinding heeft op ligands of complexen nuttig als katalysators voor katalytisch het bleken van substraten met atmosferische zuurstof, en als katalysators in van behandeling van textiel zoals wasserijstoffen waardoor betrekking het bleken door atmosferische zuurstof na de behandeling wordt gekatalyseerd. Ligand is van de algemene formule: ## STR1 ## waarin R.sub.1, R.sub.2, En R.sub.3 vertegenwoordigen onafhankelijk een groep die uit waterstof, hydroxyl, halogeen wordt geselecteerd, -- NH -- C(NH)NH.sub.2, rr en OF, waarin R=alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl of een carbonyl afgeleide groep, R dat naar keuze door één of meerdere functionele groepen wordt gesubstitueerd, en op voorwaarde dat twee van R.sub.1, R.sub.2 en R.sub.3 coördinerende groepen en één van R.sub.1 zijn, zijn R.sub.2 en R.sub.3 een niet-coördineert groep; Q vertegenwoordigt onafhankelijk een groep die uit c.sub.2-3 wordt geselecteerd - alkylene die naar keuze door benzyl H, of c.sub.1-8 wordt gesubstitueerd - alkyl; en Q.sub.1, Q.sub.2 en Q.sub.3 vertegenwoordigen onafhankelijk gespecificeerd met elkaar verbindend groepen.
