A method for obtaining a trabecular index using a trabecular pattern displayed on an X-ray image and a method for estimating a bone mineral density using trabecular indices are disclosed. The method for obtaining the trabecular index analyzes trabecular pattern changes, due to decalcifications of trabeculae, displayed on the X-ray picture and quantifies the changes, thereby obtaining the trabecular index. The method for estimating the bone mineral density obtains trabecular indices and then estimates the bone mineral density corresponding to the trabecular index using a functional relation between the trabecular index and actual bone mineral density.

Une méthode pour obtenir un index trabecular en utilisant un modèle trabecular montré sur une image de rayon X et une méthode pour estimer une densité minérale d'os employant des index trabecular sont révélées. La méthode pour obtenir l'index trabecular analyse les changements trabecular de modèle, dus aux décalcifications des trabécules, montrées sur l'image de rayon X et mesure les changements, obtenant de ce fait l'index trabecular. La méthode pour estimer la densité minérale d'os obtient des index trabecular et puis estime la densité minérale d'os correspondant à l'index trabecular en utilisant une relation fonctionnelle entre l'index trabecular et la densité réelle de minerai d'os.
