A composition for treating or preventing glomerulopathy which contains a compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein, for example, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently hydrogen atom, optionally substituted lower alkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl, etc.; R.sup.3 is 1,4-phenylene and 2,5-thiophendiyl; R.sup.4 is the substituents represented by the formula, etc.: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.6 is hydrogen atom, optionally substituted amino, etc.; and Y is NHOH or OH, its optically active substance, their pharmaceutically acceptable salt, or hydrate thereof.

Una composición para tratar o prevenir glomerulopathy que contiene un compuesto del fórmula (i): ## del ## STR1 en donde, por ejemplo, R.sup.1 y R.sup.2 son cada uno independientemente átomo del hidrógeno, aralkyl más bajo opcionalmente substituido, etc. alkyl, opcionalmente substituidos; R.sup.3 es 1,4-phenylene y 2,5-thiophendiyl; R.sup.4 es los sustitutos representados por el fórmula, el etc.: ## del ## STR2 en donde R.sup.6 es átomo del hidrógeno, amino, etc. opcionalmente substituidos; y Y es NHOH u OH, su sustancia ópticamente activa, su sal farmacéutico aceptable, o hidrato de eso.
