A method for producing fructose polymers of various lengths through expression of plant-derived FTF genes in transgenic monocot plants is disclosed. Also disclosed are transgenic monocot plants seeds derived from said plants wherein the level of fructan that accumulates in the cells of the transgenic monocot plants and seeds is increased when compared to the level of fructan that accumulates in the cells of monocot plants and that do not contain the instant chimeric gene(s) encoding plant-derived FTF genes.

Eine Methode für das Produzieren der Fruchtzuckerpolymer-Plastiken der verschiedenen Längen durch Ausdruck der Betrieb-abgeleiteten FTF Gene in den transgenic monocot Betrieben wird freigegeben. Auch gegeben die transgenic monocot Betriebssamen frei, die von besagten Betrieben abgeleitet werden, worin das Niveau von fructan, das in den Zellen der transgenic monocot Betriebe und der Samen ansammelt, erhöht wird, wenn es mit dem Niveau von fructan verglichen wird, die in den Zellen der monocot Betriebe ansammelt und die nicht sofortige chimeric gene(s) kodierung Betrieb-abgeleitete FTF Gene enthalten.
