An alphanumeric character image recognition system includes a first stage comprising at least a first, second and third digital image signal processing network having each at least one input terminal and at least one output terminal and said networks being designed to process image information from digital image signals, and comprising at least a first, second and third memory register having each at least one input terminal and at least one output terminal and the input terminals of the first, second and third memory registers being connected to the output terminal of the first network, the output of the second network and the output terminal of the third network respectively and said memory registers being designed to contain the image information processed by the first, second and third digital image signal processing networks, and a second stage characterized in that said second stage comprises at least one first and one second classifier network having each at least one first and one second input terminal and a plurality of output terminals, the first input terminal of the first classifier network being connected to the output terminal of the first memory register and the second input terminal of said first classifier network being connected to the output terminal of the second memory register and the first input terminal of the second classifier network being connected to the output terminal of the second memory register and the second input terminal of said second classifier network being connected to the output terminal of the third memory register and at least one third classifier network having a plurality of input terminals connected to a plurality of output terminals of the first and second classifier networks and a plurality of output terminals which are output terminals of the system and said classifier networks being designed to carry out consecutive statistical operations on the image information until there are obtained statistical values corresponding to a predetermined classification of images to be recognized.

Um sistema alfanumérico do recognition da imagem de caráter inclui um primeiro estágio que compreende uma ao menos primeira, segunda e terceira rede processar de sinal da imagem digital que têm cada um ao menos um terminal input e ao menos um terminal de saída e umas redes ditas que estão sendo projetadas processar a informação da imagem dos sinais da imagem digital, e compreendendo um ao menos primeiro, segundo e terceiro registo da memória que tem cada um ao menos um terminal input e ao menos um terminal de saída e os terminais da entrada do primeiros, os segundos e terceiros registos da memória que estão sendo conectados ao terminal de saída da primeira rede, a saída da segunda rede e o terminal de saída da terceira rede respectivamente e dos registos ditos da memória que estão projetou conter a informação da imagem processada pelas primeiras, segundas e terceiras redes processar de sinal da imagem digital, e por um segundo estágio caracterizado que o segundo estágio dito compreende ao menos um primeiro e por uma segundo rede do classificador que tem cada um ao menos um primeiro e um segundos terminais da entrada e um plurality de terminais de saída, o primeiro terminal da entrada da primeira rede do classificador que está sendo conectada ao terminal de saída do primeiro registo da memória e ao segundo terminal da entrada de primeira rede dita do classificador que está sendo conectada ao terminal de saída do segundo registo da memória e ao primeiro terminal da entrada da segunda rede do classificador que está sendo conectada ao terminal de saída do segundo registo da memória e o segundo terminal da entrada de segunda rede dita do classificador que estão sendo conectadas ao terminal de saída do terceiro registo da memória e ao menos uma terceira rede do classificador que tem um plurality dos terminais da entrada conectados a um plurality de terminais de saída das primeiras e segundas redes do classificador e um plurality dos terminais de saída que são terminais de saída do sistema e das redes ditas do classificador que estão sendo projetados realizar operações estatísticas consecutivas na informação da imagem até que houver uns valores estatísticos obtidos que correspondem a uma classificação predeterminada das imagens a ser reconhecidas.
