An ink jet head includes a pressure chamber, a vibration plate, and a piezoelectric element which is provided on the vibration plate and causes a volume displacement of the pressure chamber. The piezoelectric element has a thickness of 20 .mu.m or less, and the pressure chamber and the piezoelectric element satisfy a relation V0/(L2.sup.2 b)>550.times.10.sup.-6, where V0 [m.sup.3 ] denotes a volume displacement of the pressure chamber when the piezoelectric element is driven, L2 [m] denotes a width of the piezoelectric element, and b [m] denotes a depth of the pressure chamber.

Ein Tintenstrahlkopf schließt einen Druckraum, eine Erschütterung Platte und ein piezoelektrisches Element, das auf der Erschütterung Platte zur Verfügung gestellt wird ein und verursacht eine Volumenversetzung des Druckraumes. Das piezoelektrische Element hat eine Stärke von mu.m 20 oder von kleiner, und der Druckraum und das piezoelektrische Element erfüllen eine Relation V0/(L2.sup.2 B) 550.times.10.sup.-6, wo V0 [ m.sup.3 ] eine Volumenversetzung des Druckraumes, wenn das piezoelektrische Element gefahren wird, L2 [ m ] bezeichnet eine Breite des piezoelektrischen Elements und b [ m ] bezeichnet eine Tiefe des Druckraumes bezeichnet.
