A lubricating composition containing an organic molybdenum compound having
excellent oxidation stability that provides lubricity for long periods of
time is provided.
The lubricant comprises a molybdenum amine compound obtained by reacting a
compound containing a hexavalent molybdenum atom with an amine represented
by the following formula (1):

wherein each of R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom and/or a
hydrocarbon group, and at least one of R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 is a chain
hydrocarbon group having 14 or more carbon atoms;
or the following formula (2)

wherein R.sup.4 represents a chain hydrocarbon group having 10 or more
carbon atoms, s represents 0 or 1, X and/or Y represents a hydrogen atom,
a hydrocarbon group, an alkanol group or an alkyl amino group having 2 to
4 carbon atoms, and X and Y are not hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbon groups
at the same time when s is 0. A lubricating composition containing the
lubricant is also provided.
Una composizione di lubrificazione che contiene un residuo organico del molibdeno che ha stabilità eccellente di ossidazione che fornisce l'untuosità per i periodi di tempo lunghi è fornita. Il lubrificante contiene un residuo dell'ammina del molibdeno ottenuto reagendo un residuo che contiene un atomo esavalente del molibdeno con un'ammina rappresentata dalla seguente formula (1): ## del ## STR1 in cui ciascuno di R.sup.1 a R.sup.3 rappresenta un atomo dell'idrogeno e/o un gruppo dell'idrocarburo ed almeno uno di R.sup.1 a R.sup.3 è un gruppo chain dell'idrocarburo che ha 14 o più atomi di carbonio; o il seguente ## in cui R.sup.4 rappresenta un gruppo chain dell'idrocarburo che ha 10 o più atomi di carbonio, s del ## STR2 di formula (2) rappresenta 0 o 1, la X e/o Y rappresenta un atomo dell'idrogeno, un gruppo dell'idrocarburo, un gruppo dell'alcanol o un gruppo amminico alchilico che ha 2 - 4 atomi di carbonio e la X e Y non sono atomi dell'idrogeno o gruppi dell'idrocarburo allo stesso tempo quando la s è 0. Una composizione di lubrificazione che contiene il lubrificante inoltre è fornita.
