Users of the system can access the TV contents and program media recorder by speaking in natural language sentences. The user interacts with the television and with other multimedia equipment, such as media recorders and VCRs, through the unified access controller. A speaker verification/identification module determines the identity of the speaker and this information is used to control how the dialog between user and system proceeds. Speech can be input through either a microphone or over the telephone. In addition, the user can interact with the system using a suitable computer attached via the internet. Regardless of the mode of access, the unified access controller interprets the semantic content of the user's request and supplies the appropriate control signals to the television tuner and/or recorder.

Gli utenti del sistema possono accedere al soddisfare della TV ed al registratore di mezzi di programma parlando nelle frasi di linguaggio naturale. L'utente si interagisce con la televisione e con l'altra apparecchiatura di multimedia, quali i registratori di mezzi e VCRs, attraverso il regolatore unificato di accesso. Un modulo dell'altoparlante verification/identification determina l'identità dell'altoparlante e queste informazioni sono usate per controllare come il dialogo fra l'utente ed il sistema continua. Il discorso può essere immesso attraverso un microfono o l'eccedenza il telefono. In più, l'utente può interagirsi con il sistema per mezzo di un calcolatore adatto fissato via il Internet. Senza riguardo al modo di accesso, il regolatore unificato di accesso interpreta il contenuto semantico della richiesta dell'utente e fornisce i segnali di controllo adatti al sintonizzatore e/o al registratore della televisione.
