A method for acylating a hexakis (arylmethyl) hexaazaisowurtzitane (WB.sub.6) by reductively removing the arylmethyl groups in the presence of an acylating agent, characterized by contacting a WB.sub.6 (a) with a heterogeneous system reduction catalyst (b) in the presence of an acylating agent (c) and a reducing agent (d) in a solvent (e) for the WB.sub.6 (a) to reductively remove the arylmethyl groups from the WB.sub.6 (a) and acylate the same, and by preventing the WB.sub.6 (a) and the catalyst (b) from being contacted with each other when at least either of the acylating agent (c) and the reducing agent (d) is not present. In this method, the decomposition of the WB.sub.6 skeleton, which readily occurs in the beginning of the acylation of the WB.sub.6 as a starting material, can be highly effectively inhibited. This method can hence stably produce a tetraacylhexaazaisowurtzitane derivative in a high yield and is industrially advantageous.

Un metodo per acylating un hexaazaisowurtzitane di hexakis (arylmethyl) (WB.sub.6) reductively rimuovendo i gruppi di arylmethyl in presenza di un agente acylating, caratterizzato mettendosi in contatto con un WB.sub.6 (a) con un catalizzatore eterogeneo di riduzione del sistema (b) in presenza di un agente acylating (c) e di un agente riduttore (d) da un (e) solvibile per il WB.sub.6 (a) reductively per rimuovere i gruppi di arylmethyl dal WB.sub.6 (a) e dall'acilato lo stessi ed impedendo il WB.sub.6 (a) ed il catalizzatore (b) mettersi in contatto con con a vicenda quando almeno uno dell'agente acylating (c) e dell'agente riduttore (d) non è assente. In questo metodo, la decomposizione dello scheletro WB.sub.6, che si presenta prontamente nell'inizio dell'acilazione del WB.sub.6 come prodotto base, può essere inibita altamente efficacemente. Questo metodo può quindi produrre stabile un derivato del tetraacylhexaazaisowurtzitane in un alto rendimento ed è su scala industriale conveniente.
