A process for the preparation of an aromatic organozinc compound is provided. The process comprises reacting a zinc chloride, bromide or iodide and an organometallic compound of another metal comprising an aromatic moiety, producing a reaction product comprising an organozinc compound and a halide salt of the other metal. The reaction product is then contacted with a liquid hydrocarbon, in which the organozinc compound is soluble and the halide salt of the other metal is of low solubility. The halide salt of the other metal is separated from the hydrocarbon, and the organozinc compound can be recovered from the hydrocarbon. Organozinc compounds produced by this process can be employed to generate chiral centres in suitable substrates.

Un procedimento per la preparazione di un residuo aromatico dell'organozinco è fornito. Il processo contiene la reazione del cloruro dello zinco, bromuro o ioduro e un residuo organometallico di un altro metallo che contiene una parte aromatica, producendo un prodotto di reazione che contiene un residuo dell'organozinco e un sale halide l'altro metallo. Il prodotto di reazione allora si mette in contatto con con un idrocarburo liquido, in cui il residuo dell'organozinco è solubile ed il sale halide dell'altro metallo è della solubilità bassa. Il sale halide dell'altro metallo è separato dall'idrocarburo ed il residuo dell'organozinco può essere recuperato dall'idrocarburo. I residui dell'organozinco prodotti tramite questo processo possono essere impiegati per generare i centri chiral in substrati adatti.
