High activity ZSM-5 and ZSM-11, with alpha values of 1000 to 3500, are produced by synthesis from a reaction mixture containing an organic directing agent selected from a non-cyclic amine having the formula (C.sub.2 H.sub.6 N).sub.n N.sub.m H.sub.q wherein n is 1, 2 or 3; m is 0 or 1; q is 0, 1 or 2 and (n+m+q) is either 2 or 4.

L'alta attività ZSM-5 e ZSM-11, con i valori dell'alfa di 1000 - 3500, è prodotta dalla sintesi da una miscela di reazione che contiene un agente dirigente organico scelto da un'ammina non-cyclic che ha la formula (C.sub.2 H.sub.6 N).sub.n N.sub.m H.sub.q in cui la n è 1, 2 o 3; la m. è 0 o 1; la q è 0, 1 o 2 e (n+m+q) è 2 o 4.
