A process for the preparation of N-(amino-4,6-dihalopyrimidine)formamides of the formula: ##STR1## in which X is a halogen atom, starting from 2,5-diamino-4,6-dihalopyrimidine of the formula: ##STR2## in which X has the meaning afore-mentioned, by reaction with formic acid.

Ein Prozeß für die Vorbereitung von N-(amino-4,6-dihalopyrimidine)formamides der Formel: ## STR1 ## in welchem X ein Halogenatom ist, fahrend von 2,5-diamino-4,6-dihalopyrimidine der Formel ab: ## STR2 ## in welchem X die vorher erwähnte Bedeutung hat, durch Reaktion mit Ameisensäure.
