Compounds of formula I: ##STR1## as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts, hydrates and esters thereof, are disclosed. The compounds are useful for treating or preventing prostaglandin mediated diseases. Pharmaceutical compositions containing such compounds and methods of treatment are also included.
