A method of treating an organic waste stream, such as the waste from a meat processing plant, to substantially remove solid organic matter from the stream. The method substitutes MgCl.sub.2 and small amounts of AlCl.sub.3 for the FeCl.sub.3 that was used in the prior art process, before adding polymeric flocculents. The polymeric flocculents are added as they are in the prior art, and the solid precipitate is removed by physical separation.

Un metodo di trattare un flusso dei rifiuti organici, quale lo spreco da un impianto di lavorazione della carne, per rimuovere sostanzialmente materia organica solida dal flusso. Il metodo sostituisce MgCl.sub.2 ed i piccoli importi di AlCl.sub.3 per il FeCl.sub.3 che è stato usato nel processo di arte anteriore, prima della aggiunta dei flocculents polimerici. I flocculents polimerici sono aggiunti mentre sono nell'arte anteriore ed il precipitato solido è rimosso tramite la separazione fisica.
