Pharmacologically and biologically active compositions containing carotenoids, in combination with micro and macro nutrients, a process for their preparation from carrots and their use in formulations for health care and nutrition applications. The process includes sequentially treating carrot juice with a carboxylic acid and a saccharide to obtain a carotenoid fraction rich in micro and macro nutrients in proportions compatible with those originally found in the natural state. A method of treating retenoid deficient states and immunomodulation is also disclosed using the composition.

Pharmakologisch und biologisch aktiver Aufbau, der Carotinoiden, im Verbindung mit den Mikro- und Makronährstoffen, einen Prozeß für ihre Vorbereitung von den Karotten und ihren Gebrauch in den Formulierungen für Gesundheitspflege- und Nahrunganwendungen enthält. Der Prozeß schließt Karottensaft mit einer karboxylhaltigen Säure und einem Saccharid der Reihe nach behandeln ein, um ein Carotinoidebruch Rich in den Mikro- und Makronährstoffen in den Anteilen zu erreichen, die mit denen kompatibel sind, die ursprünglich im Naturzustand gefunden werden. Eine Methode des Behandelns retenoid der unzulänglichen Zustände und des immunomodulation wird auch mit dem Aufbau freigegeben.
