The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition containing: (a) a thienopyridine derivative of formula ##STR1## in which R is hydrogen or a (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4)alkoxycarbonyl group, or one of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts; and (b) an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor.
