The novel optically active compounds of formula I: ##STR1## (R.sup.1, Hal and L.sup.1 through L.sup.5 are defined in the specification) wherein the enantiomeric excess of the (S)-enantiomer is at least 70%., show enhanced selective fungicidal activity. The new compounds are processed with carriers, and optionally with adjuvants, to form fungicidal compositions.
