A breakaway mirror assembly includes a housing forming a cavity therein. The housing has an opening in an end thereof. An applique is fixedly coupled to the door of an automotive vehicle. A pairs of springs has one end mounted to the applique on a pair of spring mounts. The other end of springs extend into the housing through the opening in the housing. An elongated bracket is connected to the opposite end of each spring. The spring force applied to the housing through the bracket holds the housing to the applique during operation of the automotive vehicle.

Een afgescheiden spiegelassemblage omvat een huisvesting daarin vormt een holte. De huisvesting heeft het openen daarvan in een eind. Een applique wordt vast gekoppeld aan de deur van een automobielvoertuig. Paren lentes heeft één eind opgezet aan applique op een paar van de lente opzet. Het andere eind van de lentes breidt zich in de huisvesting uit door het openen in de huisvesting. Een verlengde steun wordt verbonden met het tegenovergestelde eind van elke lente. De de lentekracht die op de huisvesting door de steun wordt toegepast houdt de huisvesting aan applique tijdens verrichting van het automobielvoertuig.
